Each new edition of Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance bumps up against the problem of space limitations. The 5th edition was a particular challenge; it is Lennard’s most comprehensive and complete yet, but a few procedures and descriptions that were included in the 4th Edition do not appear in the 5th Edition. Lennard and the book’s editors felt the audience for this material was too limited to carry forward into the fifth and later editions of the printed book, but that it might still have some limited use for some readers.

VeloPress offers this removed material to you now as a free pdf download. In the pdf supplement, you can find instructions for:

  • rehabilitating Shimano STI levers,
  • removing the guts from Campagnolo Ergopower and SRAM Doubletap levers for cyclocross,
  • and additional information on drivetrain compatibility issues between brands, models, and speeds, which amplifies the text on pages 115 and 116 of the new Zinn & the Art of Road Bike Maintenance, 5th Ed.

To download this supplement to the 5th Ed., simply hit “add to cart” on this page and complete the checkout process. There will be no charge for this download and you will receive a unique download link to access the pdf. If you share this download link, the link will not work for you.
